the garden

Jason and I both have a thing for a garden.  Since day one it has been our fantasy to have a beautiful garden that yields healthy and nutritious things to fill our bellies.  The day we buy our own piece of land is the day this garden comes to life.  For now we are enjoying the garden space that has been made available to us through our house-sitting commitment.

Neither of us have been in a place where we have been responsible for the upkeep of a property through the passing of seasons.  We made it through winter and now we are finding ourselves learning how to water, nourish, and plant for a summer harvest.

You might think this makes us kind of worthless.  It does make me worthless.  How did I not learn this stuff while my dad worked tirelessly to have a perfect yard and garden?  Jason, on the other hand, grew up in a green paradise where there is no such thing as watering grass or waiting for the last frost date to plant seeds.
